EVALUATION OF SECONDARY ALUMINIUM DROSS IN CALCIUM ALUMINATE CEMENT

In this study, the evaluation of aluminium dross from secondary production in calcium aluminate cement was investigated. Salt compounds were removed significantly by washing. Mixtures washed and quicklime prepared to obtain a additive considering standard with low alumina they sintered at 1250 °C for 5 h. The phases mayenite, monocalcium aluminate, grossite, gehlenite, larnite, periclase spinel detected samples using an X-ray diffraction analysis. Tests normal consistency, setting time compressive strength carried out replacement levels (2.5, 5, 7.5, 10 12.5) w/% determine physical properties paste/mortar. Increasing level commercial (ISIDAC 40) accelerated mortar decreased workability.
